So anyway finally got him to do it today. Here's what we do... all will be quiet, we're driving home from school with the radio on and I randomly scream out "DANCE PARTY!!!" then everyone in the car has to dance. When I yell "Dance Party's over" we all stop, take a break then do it all over again. We were getting pretty wild today, I'm not gonna lie! I really hope I'm not the only crazy person that does this but if I am... now you know about it and you should totally try it. Tons of fun and the kiddies LOVE it!

My car is still dirty
It's sooo warm today. 74 to be exact so I thought I would take the boys outside while I cleaned out my car. Well I tried cleaning the car anyway. That counts for something right? Heh.
Within the first 20 min I had to pump up the tires on 2 bicycles, the boys fought over the bicycles. Gage cried. He wrecked one of them. Cried. He fell over something (i dont know what), hurt his finger. Cried. Walked right into the open car door. Cried. Fell out of a chair trying to climb a tree. Guess what? He cried. I gave up & we fed the fish instead. Now he's asleep :)
I did get a few pictures before he got mad at me because I wouldn't let him fill up a bucket with pond water so he threw said bucket INTO the pond. That was fun trying to fish it back out. Oh and I haven't seen the duck in about a week guess he found a girlfriend and flew the coop. Or he got eaten like the last one :(
Here's the pictures I got along with a few from yesterday. Happy Spring to you all!

Happy New Year!
I am a terrible mommy. I started 2011 off with a lie. I'm going to feel guilty about this all year. Well, probably not but I do feel bad.
I had been promising the kids all week that they could stay up till midnight and do the New Year thing. They'd never done it before and I thought it was time. We planned on playing candyland and snacking into the wee hours of the night. I made cute little platters with shrimp and homemade cocktail sauce, a veggie and chip platter with dip (I'm so proud of them though. They didn't touch the chips but I had to fill it up with carrots twice. They actually like veggies!) I did the whole deal wanting it to be special.
Didn't happen. They ate some carrots. Hubby passed out on the couch (He went to work that morning at 3am so he was exhausted). The kids were starting to get cranky. Especially Gage, he was up the night before from 3-5:30. And then I had an idea. They can't tell time. They have no idea it's not midnight yet. Gavin had been asking for the past 3 hrs if it was New Years time yet. Would it be so bad if I pretended it was midnight? Hmmm. I thought on it for an hour and then Gavin asked if it was time yet. Now he's a smart guy so I couldn't just say yes and that would be it. He'd see right through that. So I said we have 3 more minutes. We did a fake countdown and at exactly 8:00pm we jumped up and yelled 'HAPPY NEW YEAR!' I feel bad I really do.
Anyway, we scared hubby awake and he asked if it was really midnight. I said 'Yep'. He says 'No it isn't'. (Lol, poor guy.) I said, 'Yes. It is.' *wink wink*. He said 'Ohhhh, Happy New Year guys!' Both boys gave me their first kiss of the year (Haha. ME. Not daddy. That made me feel good!) And they went to bed happy. They had no idea but I know what I did and I still feel bad. I almost got caught though. As I was putting Gavin to bed he says 'Mama, we didn't get to see the ball drop.' (shoot) I told him we missed it because daddy was watching something else on TV. He was satisfied and said maybe we could watch it in the morning. I DVR'd the last 4 min. so he could watch it.
Hubby went back to sleep and I spent New Years Eve alone. And my first kiss of the year? Well I wasn't thinking about it because I was alone but I heard some fireworks going off downtown so I went outside to see if I could see them (It was too cloudy). I picked the cat up so he wouldn't run outside and by habit kissed him on the top of the head. Yep, Ogberd the evil kitten was my New Years kiss. I don't even like him that much. So my New Years Eve party was a flop but I woke up this morning both boys were snuggled up in bed with me. Hubby was still on the couch, lol. He never woke up. He must have been really tired! He didn't even wake up whe somebody in the neighborhood was shooting off some sort of fireworks. To me it sounded like bottle rockets in a metal can. I have no idea but it was annoying. And loud.
I did make 1 New Years resolution but I don't know if I want to tell anyone else about it! I've told I think 4 people and they all say I'm crazy and it'll never happen. That's why I made it. To challenge myself. I have until my birthday, mid July, to accomplish it so it's possible. It's ridiculous and far fetched but I guess if I tell you all about it then I will try harder... Ok, here goes. I will have a 6-pack by my birthday. I know. Crazy right? Losing weight. Fine. But a 6-pack? Yep. I was in great shape when I met my husband. Yes I was 16 and that was 10 years ago but still. I used to do 600 crunches every night. I don't think I can do that now. My challenge is that I have this arthritis to deal with. Which is hard on my back and hips. Probably not going to be able to do many crunches. I'm going to try my best though. Hubby thinks I'm insane but he's on board with the eating healthier and working out part so I'll have support. Wonder if I should challeng him to see who can do it faster? Nah, he'd win hands down. When we met he was like 4% body fat. He knows how to buff up from his wrestling days. I don't need to loose much weight really. I'm not worried about that. Just toning. And if I drop a few pounds along the way great! I'll post more as I go along. I might even do before and after pics. We'll see! Wish me luck. And feel free to make fun of me. Everyone else has! Or join me. That would be even better! Happy New Year. Here's to a fantastic 2011!

My 4yo, The Fibber
GASP. My son just tried to pull a fast one on me. I know Gavin is old enough to tell lies, or 'fibs' if you will. But the little guy is getting downright sneaky about them now!
Today, I ask him what he wants for lunch. He says "Maybe cereal, or ice cream or somethin'. Ice cream. I think so. I'm hot." I was like yeah right little dude. Food first, then ice cream. So I settle on cheese pizza (which I KNOW he will eat). I take 1 piece (of Papa Johns pizza) and cut it in half, giving Gavin the front part (he doesn't like the crust) and Gage the rest (he'll eat anything). I leave the room for a few minutes and he runs to me and says, like he's SOOOO proud of himself, "Mama, I ate all my pizza." He didn't even mention the ice cream I'd promised (this is how good he is) but I was proud of him for eating all his food so I go to see if Gage is finished eating so they could both get some ice cream.
I look down at Gavins plate and notice he had the crust off the pizza in his plate. Now normally I'd have thought Gage just put it there when he'd gotten finished BUT, I look over and Gage is still eating. How is that possible? Gage had the part with the crust right? If that's the case, and the crust is lying in GAVIN'S plate, why is Gage still eating. One would assume he had finished his half right? Oh yes. My sneaky little guy took advantage of his little bro's never-ending appetite, let him finish his food, putting the crust in his plate making it appear to the untrained eye that he'd eaten ALL of his food therefore making him eligible for the the said ice cream.
How you make me laugh, my sneaky little guy. You're no match for me though, my little one. Oh no. Mommy's not dumb. Your plan was good, but you made some mistakes. One being trusting your brother wouldn't tell. When I was asking him if he fibbed, Gage held out the pizza and said in a sweet voice, here's your pizza bubba, you want it? Muahahaha, the young one turned on you didn't he? Don't mess with the mama boy, you'll get burned every time!
Oh by the way, he did get his ice cream. I gave in because that was a really good one on his part. He really thought he'd gotten away with it! He tried. He failed.... but he tried nonetheless. He made me laugh so he deserved the ice cream. Next time I'll stick to it and wont give in. Next time definitely. Heh.

I'm so proud of my boy
The innocence and honesty of kids never ceases to amaze me. Nor their brilliant little minds. I can't believe how smart children are. They can figure out and notice things way more often than we adults give them credit for. Gavin is such an amazing little boy. He is quite sensitive and is so aware of... well, everything! He recently has been very aware of the environment and the things we do to harm it. I'm not really sure where it comes from. If it's from seeing it on TV or learning it from me (but I don't really drill him on this stuff. I just answer the questions he asks)? I have no idea but I gotta tell you I'm one proud mama!
So today Gavin was watching Yo Gabba Gabba and they were talking and singing about taking care of the earth and keeping it clean. I wasn't paying it any attention, I was in the kitchen when he comes up to me and says "Mama, you know who else keeps the world clean?" I said who, and he says in a very sweet voice "You do mama, and so do I!"
A little while later he comes to me again and looks a little confused. He says, "When the smoke goes in the air, the clouds get sick." I tell him yes it does. He tilts his head, still confused and says, "When we drive our car, it makes the clouds sick. But we have to drive our car places, but it makes the clouds sick when we do." I thought, wow, he is SO smart. He's making these connections at only 4 years old! I try to explain the best I could (which is kind of weak. I am ashamed I couldn't come up with a better answer for him) I said, "Well, you're right. When you drive a lot it makes the clouds sick but we don't drive a lot so it's ok." Which it really isn't. It made me seriously think about the things we do as a family that affects the environment.
Now, I'm not a hard core environmentalist in the least. I use paper towels, not a lot but I do. I have never thought twice about jumping in the car to go somewhere. I have even, don't tear me apart for this, used paper plates and cups. I recycle some but not everything. But he got me to thinking, if he is concerned about this being as young as he is, why aren't I? I mean, I know we can't walk anywhere. We don't live close to any store. There is no bus stop around for at least 5 miles. But I could be doing so much more. I'm just not sure what. I wrote another post about the few things I do here. What else do you think I should do?

Did he just say that to me???
This was just too cute not to post! Gage is in the process of potty training. I say "in the process" because he knows when he dirties his diaper and he could use the potty... if he really wanted to. So I've been telling him after he wets or poops in a diaper that he needed to do that in the potty.
Just a few minutes ago, he came up to me and said "I pooped, I pooped" so I look down at him and asked him why he didn't go potty. If he can tell me after he's pooped, he should be able to go potty. He looks at me with a completely serious face, puts one finger on my mouth like he's trying to shush me and says, "Mama... I NOT go potty." He was so serious which of course made it all the more hilarious!!! I laughed until I almost cried. Oh my little guy, you slay me!

Our newest additon to the family
We have a new addition to the family! It's another boy. I'm so outnumbered here but maybe this will sedate my baby craving!
My cousin gave my mom a kitten he'd gotten from some woman. She told him that she had to take them all to the pound. She had 3 left so he saved one. He took it to my moms and gave it to her and she said she'd give it to Gage for his birthday. My cousin called me to make sure Gage could have it. We'd been thinking about getting one for a couple months anyway so it seemed like the right time.
My cousin did say he was a bit early. Only 4 weeks but he plays like an 8 week old! He follows Gavin and Gage around. It's so cute the way he runs after Gage. He kind of hops instead of running! Neither one of the boys will sit still and hold him. He tries to get in Gavins lap but he's always been afraid of animals so he jumps up and runs but he likes to pet him and give him kisses.
I forgot how hard it is to litterbox train! Saturday night he peed and pooped on me in the bed! He stays in the bathroom now at night.
We have had a hard time coming up with a name for the little guy. We kept asking Gage what kitty's name was and he'd say "KITTY!" Gavin said William once because that's what he named his teddy bear he sleeps with. I love the name Oliver but that's a name I picked out when I finally get my dream dog. An English Bulldog. Isn't that cute? A bulldog named Oliver!? Haven't gotten Hubby on board though. Most of those are between $500 and $2,000.
So last night, we asked the boys again what they wanted to name him and out of the blue, Gavin came up with (I have no idea how to spell this!)... Ogberd, Ogbourd, Ogburd, well, anyhow he says it Og-Bird. (If you know of a good way to spell it let me know!) As soon as he said it, Gage said, Ogberd, Ogberd. Hubby looked at me with raised eyebrows and said 'I... guess that's it' Gavin said 'Well, Ogberd it is!' Hubby said 'Ok, Ogberd it is.' I was kind of speechless the entire time but both boys like it so poor kitty is Ogberd now. Where did he get that name??? It was so random! But we said they could choose and that's what they chose... poor poor kitty!
Anyway so introducing Ogberd, Ogbird, Ogbyrd.... whatever his name is...

Pictures over the past 4 years
My sweet little Gavin, you've grown up so fast. You make me laugh more than anyone else can. You are the smartest, most energetic, talkative little guy I know. I love you so much bubba, I hope you always know that.
I set this post to automatically post at 9:24 AM on May 9th, 2010. That means exactly 4 years ago you came into this world and made me a mommy. It just so happens that today is also Mothers Day. I can't think of any better Mothers Day gift than celebrating my wonderful boys 4th birthday!
Here are some of my favorite pictures of you over the past 4 years:

My little man is 4 years old
4 years ago this Sunday, May 9th 2006, my miracle baby was born. I'm not going to go into detail about that right now. I've been working on a post titled 'My Miracle Baby' for awhile now but it's a bit emotional so I keep putting it off! I'll get to it soon I promise but for now I want to share with you all the day Gavin was born.
Well, I'll start with the day we found out we were going to have a little boy! He was a girl for about 30 minutes and if hubby hadn't made the woman mad, we would have been expecting a baby girl! We went in and she started the ultrasound and was doing all the routine stuff and me and my mom (I wanted my mommy there with me!) saw 'IT'. But the nurse didn't say anything so we kept silent. Then she got around to finding out the sex of the baby. She said 'do you want to know what it is?' and my mom and I both said it was a boy because we'd already seen it. She said 'nope, it's a girl. See these 3 lines?' We were like oh, um, OK. But hubby must not have heard her or something because he said no, it can still be a boy. He kept going on and on. I guess he thought we were just talking about what it might be or something. She got a little frustrated after awhile of him arguing and said 'No, I said it was a girl, SEE...' then she paused and said, 'Oh, well, I guess you're right. It's a boy after all.' Boy, am I glad he was clueless and decided to argue with her because we would have had all pink stuff for him!
Fast forward to about 36 weeks. I started having contractions. They lasted all day and that night hubby was at work and they were regular, 5 min. apart. I didn't want him to leave work if he didn't have to so I called my mom. She drove 45 minutes to come stay with me all night. I love her so much! I honestly don't know what I'd do without her! We timed them all night and they stayed pretty regular and were getting pretty painful so when hubby came home at 3am I called the Dr. She said wait a bit more then call her back (she had a horrible attitude but I'm not even going to go there. Lets just say when I was pregnant with Gage, I refused to see her. I went to the same office but I saw every other Dr. there but her!) I called her back and she said 'You don't have to have my permission to go to the hospital.' So I went.
We got there I guess around 5am and was admitted. By then the contractions were 1 minute apart and hurt pretty bad. I always explain it as having done 1000 sit ups and was still doing them (if that makes any sense!) They check me but one Dr. said I was 2 centimeters and another said I wasn't dilated at all. They didn't quit the entire time I was there and since I hadn't had any sleep, they gave me morphine so I could rest. I didn't think I was supposed to have morphine while pregnant but they gave it to me anyway. We were there 12 hours and they never stopped. They eventually said I was just dehydrated and sent me home. The contractions did slow but I ended up going back to the Dr. twice more for the same thing. Contractions coming hard at 1 minute. No sleep. Pain. The works. The (terrible) Dr. gave me Percocet and sent me home. Again, I didn't think it was wise to be taking Percocet while pregnant but it being my first and I assumed that Dr. knows best, I took them.
I made it to the 37 week checkup and THANK GOD I had a different Dr. that day (who would later become my regular and deliver Gage) Dr. Watson. I loved her! I told her everything that had went on and she seemed a bit worried. She ran over to another room and grabbed the mobile ultrasound machine. She said she was worried about his size. She starts looking around (I made her double check the sex! It was obviously a boy by then!) and discovers that he's breech. When I heard that word, breech, my heart sunk. I had originally wanted to attempt a natural birth but was open-minded about an epi. Then she said C-section. I wanted to cry (and did later that night, like a baby!) She scheduled another appointment with my regular Dr. (oh, crap) so she could tell me about my options. She offered to try and turn the baby but said that it was difficult to do, was painful, and wasn't always successful. So I agreed to the C-section. I was scheduled for May 9 at 8am. I had to be there at 6am.
The night before, I was a wreck. I was in the shower and broke down. I cried and cried with all those things running through my mind. Thinking I'm not ready, what if I'm not a good mom, that kind of stuff.
I'd never known of anyone having a C-section. I didn't know what to expect. I was so nervous and heartbroken. This wasn't going anything like I'd planned. I wanted to feel the labor, the excitement of rushing to the hospital, the pushing, all of that. But no. Mine was coming on a certain date at a certain time. You would think that would make it easier but it doesn't. Not at all. I wanted to go naturally. When he was ready.
Crazy as it sounds though, after I had that meltdown, I didn't think I'd sleep a wink but I believe that was the best nights sleep I'd ever had!
We got to the hospital the next morning at 5:55. My mom was waiting for us in the ER! She was more nervous than I was and this was her 3rd grandbaby! She looked at me, shook her finger and said, 'You're cuttin' it awful close aren't you? I've been waiting 20 minutes!' Hubby wanted to stop at the gas station and grab a Mountain Dew so he could stay awake! I hated him at the time though because I couldn't have anything.
We got in the prep area and waited. And waited. The Dr. was supposed to have been there at 8. She didn't show. They got me prepped, put in the spinal block, and in she runs at almost 9 with a Starbucks cup in her hand. A FREAKIN' STARBUCKS CUP IN THE OPERATING ROOM. She runs in, grabs a knife and starts cutting. I felt it. All of it. The anesthesiologist lady just kept looking at me funny. Oh, btw, the whole time the Dr. was late, I was laying butt naked on a freezing cold metal table while she was bragging about her trip to Italy the ENTIRE time. She said 'does it hurt?' I said yeah. I guess she didn't believe me because she never stopped the Dr. and I was crying in pain and the stupid woman just stared at me like I was crazy.
Now, I hurt the entire time but the medicine eventually started working, somewhat. It wasn't like being sliced open with absolutely NO medication but it wasn't fully working. I felt EVERYTHING. She kept saying 'Oh, it's just pressure, you're not really in pain.' Bull crap lady, you lay here and feel this, it hurts. I cried the whole time. I can't tell you how much it hurt. I've never been in that much pain before and haven't been in that much pain since.
Just a little note here: When I had Gage, I had an amazing anesthesiologist named Edward. He actually done things right and was amazed at how long it actually took for the medicine to start working. He said it had something to do with the anatomy of my spine. The way it was shaped or something. I do actually have something called a straightened spine, not sure if that had anything to do with it though. But even then the medicine wore off faster than it should have and I was in a lot of pain by the end of that one too. I'll tell you more about that one next week when I do Gages!
They finally gave me some morphine once he was out. I only got to see him for a second before I passed out.
When I came to, It felt like only a few minutes later but I have no idea. I saw the most perfect little thing in the world! He was only 6.5 lbs and was 18.5 inches long. I'd never seen anything that small. Both my niece and nephew were over 7 lbs. I had a difficult time figuring out how to hold something that little but that could've been in part due to the c-section too.
I had really wanted to try breastfeeding but back then I was sooo incredibly shy, I couldn't do it. I know that sounds crazy and silly but I just could not do it. I guess it doesn't help that I'd never really been around anyone that breastfed other than a cousin and I only saw her do it once. I tried to after we left the hospital but by then he was 4 days old and refused to take it. I'm so glad I got a chance to do it with my second. It was wonderful!
I know this has been a very long post. I apologize for that! I only meant to write a few things and just show pictures but once I started typing, it all just came out! Anyway here's some pictures of Gavins first day in this world:
